Director - Business Development
Align Tax Consulting is a leading specialized tax consulting firm focused on delivering tailored tax strategies to businesses. We partner closely with CPAs and their clients to maximize tax benefits through strategic tax incentives including cost segregation studies, utility sales tax exemptions, R&D tax credits, and 179D energy efficiency deductions. With deep expertise in rapidly evolving tax laws, our team ensures that businesses can confidently navigate these changes to capture every available benefit.
Our company is quickly growing, and we are seeking a qualified Director of Business Development to join our tight-knit team. As a member of the Sales team, the Director of Business Development is focused on promoting Align’s tax services and developing new client relationships. This candidate must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time throughout continental United States.

What you will need:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting, business, construction management, or engineering
- 2-5 years of professional sales experience
- No prior experience with tax credits is necessary
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, strong and written and verbal communication skills
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- A valid United States driver’s license
- Ability to travel independently or as part of a team to client locations throughout the USA
Responsibilities:
- Contact, meet, and communicate with CPA groups, Commercial Real Estate Firms, and individual clients to understand needs
- Proactively identify new client opportunities, potential competition, and possible challenges
- As needed, work with other members of the sales team to further define customer and market segmentation, develop territory strategy, and develop prospective client relationships.
- Identify, develop and effectively execute account plans in accordance with company objectives
- Hit defined annual sales quota
